Watercolor piece on a large expanse of hot pressed cotton rag. Do not like the hot press for larger pieces. I might come back in later and do more detail work on it but for now it's finished.

Tis my pony Dustin during one of our ';photo shoots' at Pierce. I tried an effect for the whiskers that didn't work very well so I had to just accept the problem for what it was. But yeah... finished!

Very nice. The detailing is enough for watercolour piece. But yeah maybe later you should add more details with coloured pencils.

This is pretty epic! Watercolors seem SO difficult to work with. :faint: The angle is very intriguing, and it looks very neat! Nice job! =D

Thanks! Well hot pressed is -very- smooth surfaced paper... so it can take a lot of detail from paint... of course it makes it not very forgiving... so it is really a debate whether it should be colored pencil or watercolor itself.

Hehe, thanks! They're definitely an aquired skill. They require you to think backwards from most other mediums (except colored pencil curiously enough... and markers... but markers don't blend well) but once you get the hang of it it can be really therapeutic... well, not so much this piece because there's so much white to leave untouched and maintain that delicacy (I nearly had an aneurism with this painting >.< which is why I then did Elegance right after. Lots paint! lotsa dark! ;) )

You can use watercolour pencils on top and not make it wet! lol that is like cheating...
